Based in Manhattan, Kim Do is a well-known, industry-respected makeup artist with over ten years in the field, with extensive credits ranging from Vogue, Elle and Lucky to the New York Times, Time magazine, MSNBC, and Good Morning America.

A firm believer in makeup's subtle but powerful ability to show people at their best and spotlight their natural beauty and personality, Kim Do’s first experiences with cosmetics were of a much more creative stripe.

"One of my earliest memories was rummaging around in my mother's makeup, smearing cosmetics all over my face," laughs Do, who grew up in Salem, Oregon. "And I was very enthusiastic about smearing makeup on any family member who would allow me to."

While in college in Oregon, she struck up a rapport with a local manager for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, who urged Do to try her hand at doing makeup for others. After lending a hand at a Bobbi Brown event, Do found she had surprising facility with the art, and, what's more, she liked it.

Still, she hadn't considered it as a career. Moving to New York after college in 2001, after a six-month trip around the world, she worked for Glamour magazine in the fashion department and for Fox 5 News in production. But ultimately, fate urged her to pick up the makeup brush again. Once she did, her career took off as she quickly became known for a youthful look of luminous, dewy skin that was flattering to almost every woman's face. Not only has this endeared her to editors, photographers and cameramen, but to the subjects themselves.

Moreover, since part of the job Do loves is helping educate women to upgrade their own makeup routine and empower themselves, her insights have become almost as welcome on shoots as her careful and flawless art.
